Welcome to Inn on the Riverwalk
A wonderful artist and great friend, Liz Penniman http://www.lizpenniman.com/ joined me in a field trip to San Antonio last week. First stop…Inn on the Riverwalk. Johanna Gardner, owner and innkeeper gave us a tour of the inn and showed us her artwork. What a treat!!! Johanna is a painter and works with encaustic materials. She has now invited and scheduled several artists to show their work each month at the Inn and is particularly interested in showing encaustic work. The Inn sits on the San Antonio River walk with tourists passing by everyday…the rooms were delightfully bathed in sunlight with each room having unique decor. As you climb the stairs…you will see art tastefully hung on the wall…as you sit in the dining room, the art invites you to take a closer look and upon entry through the front door…you will be greeted with art and then Johanna’s warm and welcoming smile. Johanna offers her support to encaustic artists by extending an invitation to show and sell encaustic artist’s work (and there’s talk of an encaustic retreat at the Inn in 2009.) You can call her at 210-225-6333 or view the website at http://www.innontheriverwalksa.com/ She would love to receive an email from you too at innontheriverwalk@yahoo.com If you are planning to stay in San Antonio as well…look no further than the Inn on the River walk in San Antonio. What a great place…and don’t forget to take a look at the outdoor patio with its spectacular view of the river walk.
