Members
Members of Texas Wax enjoy many benefits. Every month, the chapters of Texas Wax hold membership meetings at which encaustic artists share tips, techniques and critiques as well as a wonderful cameraderie. Check the chapter in your area for times and locations of their member meetings: here are links to chapter information and chapter contact forms.
Each chapter generally holds one or more member shows every year, with many additional opportunities for encaustic artists to exhibit their work. In 2009, all of the Texas Wax chapters participated in the first statewide group member show, Degrees, held at Gallery MSquared in Houston.
Each chapter also hosts various workshops, classes, demonstrations and presentations, all of which are open to Texas Wax members, and some of which are also open to the public.
Texas Wax members can also share in the community of all members statewide through a members’ discussion list, and through blogging and commenting on this website. Members as well as non-members can immediately sign up to be notified of new posts through the Subscribe link in the right sidebar or here:
Members and non-members can also join a mailing list for their favorite chapter, or for all the chapters through the Mailing List sign up forms.
Texas Wax members also receive the following additional benefits:
- Calls to entry for members only
- Discounts on art supplies at participating local vendors, such as:
- 20% off art supplies at Jerry’s Artarama – Austin
- shipping materials at Eco Box, Austin, www.ecobox.com
- Your own web pages on the Texas Wax website — you get both both a gallery page and an artist biography page, and images of your work will appear in the random galleries and posts throughout the site.
Artist membership is only $35.00 annually, and you can pay using your credit card or bank through PayPal.
