Texas Wax

Members of the Texas Wax Austin group met Saturday morning at the Dougherty Art Center from about 10:30am – 12:30pm.  Here are the items we discussed:

Even with temperatures rising, several members vacationing with families, others teaching classes and some had scheduling conflicts…our group continued to grow this month in number. Welcome to Scott (and Zandra, the youngest member yet) and Tessa, our newest members. Our second meeting on Saturday, June 21st was another success story with several new people attending. We have agreed the meetings must go on and will be held each month on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Our next meeting will be July 19th at Bay6 Studios http://www.bay6studios.com/

Our first meeting for TexasWax/Austin was held at Bay6 Gallery and Studios on Saturday, May 17th. We began the meeting at 10:30 a.m. with coffee and brunch and ended the meeting around 2:00 p.m. Easily we could have spent the entire day talking…the information and ideas were endless. Our first meeting for TexasWax/Austin is scheduled for May 17th. Artists working in encaustics from Austin and San Antonio will be attending and those who responded to the “call” for encaustic artists have now referred other artists in this area to the group.
